Join TCA's Fight to Protect Chiropractic Acupuncture in Texas!
What is happening to Acupuncture? The right of Texas chiropractors to perform chiropractic acupuncture is under assault. Currently, the Texas Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (TAAOM) is suing the Texas Board of Chiropractic Examiners to contest the board’s rules regarding acupuncture. The trial will take place in late August 2023 in the Travis County District Court.

The Texas Chiropractic Association joined the lawsuit as an intervenor. Here’s why and what’s at stake:
|
Quite simply, this isn’t a public health issue. TAAOM is engaged in a turf war, and this case is the latest example of anticompetitive behavior against chiropractic. If you have an acupuncture permit in Texas, your rights are being threatened. Even if you don’t offer acupuncture in your practice, you should care as it’s an overarching issue impacting your profession.
