Evidence-based practice is becoming the preferred approach by most, including both the World Health Organization and the World Bank, in the treatment of spinal disorders, disability and pain.  Currently, randomized controlled clinical trials are considered the primary source of evidence in the determination of the efficacy and harms of any treatment approach. It is imperative that doctors of chiropractic understand the basics of evidence-based practice, are aware of the current guidelines and recommendations and how they are formulated.

Because of doctors of chiropractic are included among those who are permitted to perform federal commercial driver physicals it is more difficult to rationalize why doctors of chiropractic cannot or should not be able to perform other types of examinations.  Not only could adding commercial driver medical exams, school bus physicals, and DOT drug and alcohol testing be a significant source of revenue for your practice, it also offers an additional source of potential patients for your care.  This session offers the required training in order to be "test-ready" to seek certification for the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners (NRCME).
