Obesity Prevalence More Than 20% in Every State

The CDC today released a map detailing obesity prevalence for all US states based on 2013 showing that 23 states had a prevalence between 25% and <30%, according to the map, and no state was shown to have a less than 20% prevalence in obesity.

According to the CDC, in 2013, state estimates of prevalence of obesity remained high from 21.3% in Colorado to 35.1% in Mississippi and West Virginia.  Seven states and the District of Columbia had an obesity prevalence between 20% and <25%; 18 had a prevalence between 30% and <35%; and two states had a prevalence of 35% or higher.
