The Texas Board of Chiropractic Examiners will meet on Thursday, January 31, beginning at 9:00 AM at the William P. Hobby Building at 333 Guadalupe, Tower 2, Room 400A, in Austin.

On the agenda for the meeting are:

  • Approval of the minutes of the Nov. 8, 2018 Meeting.
  • Presentation of the board president’s report.
  • Discussion and possible action regarding election of a board vice president and a secretary/treasurer.
  • Presentation of staff reports.
  • Presentation of board committee reports.
  • Public comment.
  • Discussion and possible action on the board’s making legislative and policy recommendations to the Texas Legislature concerning Texas Occupations Code Chapter 201 pertaining to officers, records, inspections, examination application, educational requirements, examination procedure, reexamination, inactive status, registration, application for registration, enforcement committee, resistance of license, enforcement committee recommendation, pay to appeal provisions, criminal penalty; practice without a license, cease and desist orders, and disciplinary procedures.
  • Discussion on the board’s enforcement procedures.
  • Discussion on the board’s authority to expunge disciplinary records.
  • Discussion and possible action on requests to sit for the Teas Jurisprudence examination.
  • Proposed cease and desist orders.
  • Discussion and possible action on proposed agreed orders.
  • Discussion and possible action on required suspension or revocation of licenses.
  • Discussion and possible action on proposing amendments to certain board rules relating to scope of practice, namely acupuncture.
  • Discussion and possible action on proposing a new rule relating to business practices, namely unsafe and unsanitary conditions.
  • Discussion and possible action on proposing the repeal and replacement of certain rules relating to sanctions imposed by the board.
  • Discussion and possible action on adopting the repeal and replacement of certain board rules relating to continuing education.=
  • Discussion and possible action on proposing the amendment of certain board rules relating to advertising and public communications, namely misleading claims.
