Memorial Day weekend is coming up and that means summer is close at hand. It also means that Chiro Texpo ’18, TCA’s annual convention, is only weeks away. If you haven’t registered for Chiro Texpo ’18 it's coming up June 8-10 at the Hyatt Regency Dallas.

Mostly, what I love most about Chiro Texpo is the camaraderie. It’s always fun getting to meet and mingle with my fellow doctors at sessions, meetings, breaks and receptions. One of the highlights is the President’s Gala. We’ll have a great dinner and hand out a few awards, including the prestigious Keeler Plaque and Young Chiropractor of the Year awards. Come and congratulate your peers for their dedication to chiropractic and TCA. Don’t forget to purchase your gala ticket(s) when you register! Regular registration ends this Friday, May 25, so be sure to register online or call the TCA office at (512) 477-9292 before then.

As chiropractors, we all need a place to go to get CE hours. You can do that at Chiro Texpo ’18. Need your TBCE Board hours or the one-time required Medicare hours? Check and check.

Plus, we have CE sessions ranging from autism, ADHD and acupuncture to ethics, personal injury, women’s health and the latest chiropractic research on the power of a chiropractic adjustment. We’ll cover important topics like pediatrics and chiropractic’s place in solving the opioid epidemic, and we’ve added a 10-hour program on lower back pain that is your first step towards earning a Diplomate through the Academy of Chiropractic Orthopedists. And the speaker line-up has never been better, with Drs. Tony Ebel, CJ Mertz, Dan Rowe and Dan Sullivan just a few of the experts we’ve assembled.

But Chiro Texpo ’18 is much more than an outlet for CE hours. There are a few other reasons you need to be there, including the Texas Women’s Chiropractic Summit featuring Dr. Danielle Eaton, a special session from Student Loan Tutor on managing your student debt and the New Doc Seminar, which covers the business essentials of launching and operating a chiropractic practice.

Kudos to TCA Board members Drs. Tucker Woods and Joey Simon and the entire Education & Events Committee for putting together a program that will be truly special.

Leading up to Chiro Texpo ’18, we’ve been busy. In the last month, we held TCA Tour of Texas events in Plano, Fort Worth, Austin and Tyler. We had outstanding turnouts at all four stops and raised a lot of money for the Chiropractic Development Initiative (CDI). A huge thank you to every single doctor who attended and wrote a check to CDI, especially our 100 x $100 contributors. Your generosity makes it possible for TCA to continue its work to advance chiropractic in Texas.

We’ve also been logging plenty of hours behind the scenes to solve some of the insurance issues many of you have been facing with BlueCross BlueShield. Stay tuned for updates in the coming months!

I’m very pleased with the progress we’re making as a profession. We still have so much to do, but we can make it happen if we keep the energy up and stay unified.

Chiro Texpo ’18 is my final event as TCA President. Hope to see you in Dallas next month!
