Share Your Feedback with Sunset Commission

Over the past several days, TCA has received inquiries from members about a survey sent from the Texas Sunset Advisory Commission to Doctors of Chiropractic regarding the Texas Board of Chiropractic Examiners (TBCE). As a reminder, the Sunset process is a “unique opportunity and powerful incentive for the Legislature and stakeholders to look closely at each agency and make key improvements to how state government works.” Normally, each state agency goes through the Sunset review process every 12 years. TBCE is up for Sunset review this legislative cycle.

As part of its review, the Sunset Advisory Commission seeks input from the public about how well an agency is performing and possible areas of improvement. However, the Sunset Advisory Commission does not weigh in on individual issues, cases or complaints.

TCA encourages any DCs who have received this email to respond to the survey with candid, professional feedback. Please share your perspectives or experiences. TCA considers this a great opportunity for DCs to provide input and recommendations and believes the Commission takes this input very seriously. Your feedback can help to improve the regulation of chiropractic, which benefits not just DCs but all Texans.

The deadline for your comments is Friday, Aug. 12, so please return the survey today.

As always, TCA encourages DCs to be ambassadors for the chiropractic profession. We appreciate your civic engagement.
