TBCE passed a rule in 2011 that all doctors licensed  in TX complete an 8 hour Medicare Documentation CE course by December 2012.  New doctors licensed after September 2012, have one year from the date of their license to take the course.

If you did not take the 8 hour course by the deadline and renewed the license in 2013 without taking the course, then your license is considered on "probation".

If you renew your license in 2014 without taking the course, your license will be considered "Expired", and will be deemed "expired" retro to your renewal in 2013.
Do not renew your license again without taking the Medicare documentation course.
This is a ONE TIME requirement.
