In their December 2018 Newsletter the Texas Board of Chiropractic Examiners reports that there are 5,837 active DC licenses.  There are 49 CE-conditional licenses and 261 expired licenses.  702 licenses are inactive status, and 19 have a probated or suspended license.

Disciplinary actions reported in this newsletter included:

  • Voluntary surrender of a license in lieu of discipline.
  • $15,000 fine and a 60 day suspension for failing to abide by a board order, practicing with an expired license, and for failing to respond to board inquiries.
  • $4,000 fine for advertising a non-licensed employee as a DC.
  • $3,750 fine and Ethics and Boundaries Assessment Services (EBAS) for engaging in a "consensual romantic affair involving physical and emotional intimacy with a patient."
  • $1,750 fine for failing to timely reply to a request for records and to timely respond to board inquiries.
  • $1,000 fine and jurisprudence examination for failure to report a criminal conviction and providing false information on a license renewal.
  • $500 fine for failure to timely report a criminal conviction and providing false information on an application.
  • Two years of probated suspension of license with mandated mental health counseling, evaluation, treatment, and controlled substance testing.
  • A letter of reprimand for defaulting on a student loan.
