Chiropractors across the country are rightfully upset about the recent policy change at Blue Cross Blue Shield in which BCBS is denying payments for E/M Services, particularly those when billed with the modifier 25. Please know that TCA is well-aware of what’s happening and is determining the next steps to take.

Here is TCA’s official response to our members and all Texas chiropractors:

 “TCA is focused on resolving by whatever means necessary the recent decision by BCBS to resort to unethical policies in order to intentionally withhold payment of reasonable and necessary services provided by contracted chiropractors. We are currently considering our legal options for protecting the interests of our members. We request that our members forward redacted copies of EOBs to the TCA office as we are collecting data regarding recent denials of 97140, 97110, and E/M codes related to 59, XS and 25 modifier denials.”
