Membership Spotlight: Dr. Coby Perkins Coby Perkins, DC
Coby Perkins, DC, utilizes his 28 years of experience in family care along with his specialization in upper cervical chiropractic to help families from all over the Texas Panhandle region. Dr. Perkins has practiced in Amarillo since 2005 after having previously practiced in the Dallas/Fort Worth area for many years.
Dr. Perkins utilizes the Orthospinology procedure coupled with state-of-the-art Cone Beam CT (CBCT) for precise 3-D analysis. His gentle, specific upper cervical adjustments have helped patients with chronic pain and other health conditions find relief and improved health. Quite often patients find that this technique can be the missing link for their health, allowing them to get results where other methods haven’t succeeded. He is a member of the International Chiropractic Association Council on Upper Cervical Care, and also a member of the Texas Chiropractic Association. In addition to his training in Orthospinology, Dr. Perkins has completed seminars in NUCCA to broaden his knowledge of the upper cervical spine. Also, he has received advanced training in using Low Level Laser Therapy as a unique element for improved healing and response to care. This therapy has helped many patients recover quicker from injuries, as well as improving the quality of life for patients with chronic pain. Furthermore, he specializes in advanced muscle strength testing for optimizing muscle balance and human performance. Dr. Perkins has been married to his wife Brenda for over 21 years, and is a proud father of three wonderful children. His hobbies include hiking, woodworking, and enjoying the wonderful outdoors! How long have you been a TCA member and why did you join TCA? I joined TCA sometime in the early 2000’s to support the practice of chiropractic in Texas and to keep informed of things impacting the profession. The role that TCA plays across this state is vital and I commend every TCA member and especially those willing to sacrifice their time, effort, and energy to serve in leadership roles! What is your favorite thing about being a TCA member? Having colleagues willing to assist the legal and legislative efforts for chiropractic progress for every practicing chiropractor in the state. Had this not been the case, what would the outcome have been in the legal battle a few years back that resulted in the Texas Supreme Court affirming our scope of practice? Why do you contribute to TCA’s Chiropractic Development Initiative (CDI)? I understand this as being a strategic level ‘war chest’ to allow chiropractors to deliver service to their full scope of practice. Happy to be a contributor! |
