Dr. HaldemanScott Haldeman, DC, MD, PhD, FRCP (C), FCCS (C), FAAN is considered one of the world’s foremost chiropractic and medical authorities on spinal disorders.  He is known for contribution to research on the neurological mechanisms, diagnosis and non-surgical treatment of disorders of the spine.

Presently at the University of California, Irvine as a Clinical Professor, Department of Neurology, Dr. Haldeman additionally serves as Chairman of the Research Council of the World Federation of Chiropractic.  Dr. Haldeman has published over 180 articles or book chapters, 70 scientific abstracts and authoring or edited 7 textbooks as just some of his many accomplishments over the past 30 years that make him the respected authority he is.

This will be a once in a lifetime opportunity to hear him speak.  He is currently Clinical Professor, Department of Neurology, University of California, Irvine; Adjunct Professor, Department of Epidemiology, School of Public Health, University of California, Los Angeles; and Adjunct Professor, Department of Research, Southern California University of Health Sciences. He is past president of the North American Spine Society, the American Back Society and the North American Academy of Manipulative Medicine. Dr. Haldeman presided over the Bone and Joint Decade 2000-2010 Task Force on the Neck Pain and Associated Disorders. He is on the editorial board of six journals including Spine and The Spine Journal. He is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada and the American Academy of Neurology, and a Diplomat of the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine, the American Board of Electroencephalography and Neurophysiology, and the American Board of Clinical Physiology. A resident of Santa Ana, California, Dr. Haldeman maintains an active clinical practice in neurology.

 

Simon Dagenais

Simon Dagenais DC, PhD, MSc, One of Dr. Dagenais’ many career points of focus is “Evidence Based Management of Low Back Pain” – he even co-edited a textbook on the subject. He is also considered the expert on the purpose and approach of informed consent.

Trained as a chiropractor and clinical epidemiologist, Dr. Dagenais’ credentials include faculty appointment as a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Social and Preventive Medicine at the University at Buffalo, a Master’s Degree in Health Economics from the London School of Economics, and Associate Editor for The Spine Journal and a peer reviewer for other scientific journals.

 

 

Dr. RyderKelly Ryder, DC, ART, CCSP was inspired to enter the chiropractic profession after experiencing his own sports injury while a long distance runner. During his sophomore year in high school, he suffered a hamstring injury that hampered his performance and almost ended his running career. With the care and guidance from a physical therapist and chiropractor, he returned to the field to participate in the U.S. Junior Olympic Track & Field.

Twenty years later, Dr. Kelly’s focus is to help get athletes back to their competitive field after injury, and this is a doctor is recognized both statewide and nationally for his expertise. He is a Faculty Guest Lecturer at both the Southern California University of Health Sciences and the Medical Academy of Pediatric Special Needs. He also continues to be part of an ongoing concussion study with current and retired NFL players.

 

Dr. Murkowski

Ken Murkowski, DC  has been recognized as “doctor of the year” at the state, national, and international levels.  The author of over 25 guidebooks and 140 different office forms, he has been instructing chiropractic professionals for over 25 years. 

He will help chiropractic professionals understand and make sense of the transition from the ICD-9 to ICD-10 coding system that will be implemented in October of this year.

 

 

Dr. Perkins

Janelle Perkins, D.C. is a Native Texan and one of seven chiropractors in her family. She received her Doctorate from Parker University and became a Nutritional Consultant for Standard Process/MediHerb covering over 1300 doctor accounts in Arizona, New Mexico, and Nevada.

She currently operates a private practice, Texas Alpha Wellness Center, on Historic Main Street in Grapevine, Texas. Dr. Perkins has completed over 700 Post-Graduate Clinical hours solely in nutrition, and has over 15 Years extensive training in whole-food nutrition and herbal medicine. In addition to private practice, Dr. Perkins' passion for nutritional/wellness shines though as an educator and professional speaker, traveling throughout the United States teaching nutritional seminars.


 

Dr. Meghee

Mike Meghee D.C. and TEAMCME literally helped “write the book” as a Subject Matter Expert on the two FMCSA Teams (WIPT) that developed the ”Accredited” Physician Training for the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners (NRCME) and the Survey Instrument that served as the basis for National Registry certification program.

Dr. Megehee has conducted thousands of DOT medical examinations and assists other physicians in their role as a DOT Medical Examiner.

 

 

 

Eric L. Zielinski, DC (C), MPH (c), BA is fast becoming one of chiropractic’s budding authorities on chiropractic research. Eric is the inaugural recipient of the Advancing Futures Research Agenda Scholarship sponsored by the Foundation for Vertebral Subluxation, ChiroFutures, and the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association. This research agenda seeks to validate the profession and position chiropractic as a vitalistic, scientific, evidence-informed clinical practice by sponsoring students to attend the world-renown Emory University and grow in their capacity as clinical researchers. Concurrently he is earning a Master in Public Health at Emory and becoming a Doctor of Chiropractic at Life University.  His scholarly work has been published in peer-reviewed scientific journals and he has presented at various venues like the American Public Health Association in San Francisco and the Baker IDI Heart & Diabetes Institute in Prato, Italy.

 

Dr. VaughnCynthia Vaughn D.C. is a graduate of Los Angeles College of Chiropractic.  The proud mother of three she is currently practicing in Austin with her husband Dr. James Edwards.

Dr. Vaughn is very familiar with the government requirements pertaining to documentation.  In addition to serving as Chairman of both the ACA Clinical Documentation and Bylaws Committees, she was a member of the ACA Coding and Reimbursement Committee. In August 2002, Veterans Affairs Secretary Anthony Principi appointed Dr. Vaughn to the Veterans Affairs Chiropractic Advisory Committee charged with advising the Secretary on how best to implement chiropractic into the VA system.  In 2005, VA Secretary R. James Nicholson appointed her to the Advisory Committee on Chiropractic Care Implementation charged with oversight of the new chiropractic benefit.

Currently Dr. Vaughn serves as the Secretary of the Texas Chiropractic Association and as a member of the ACA Media Response Team.  She served in 2011-12 as the Vice President of the American Chiropractic Association and as its East Texas Delegate from 2002-13.  In 1997, Texas Governor George W. Bush appointed her to the Texas Board of Chiropractic Examiners.  In 2000, he appointed her Board President where she served for three years. She also served as the Texas State Delegate to the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners and the Federation of Chiropractic Licensing Boards.



Dr. HollingsworthTom Hollingsworth D.C. has long served the chiropractic profession as a member of state, national and international chiropractic associations.  He is certified in Atlas Orthogonal Chiropractic, and Brain and Spinal Traumatology.  He has taken an active leadership role within the chiropractic profession serving as a member of the board of directors of the Texas Chiropractic Association.

Dr. Hollingsworth has served on the State Affairs Committee working closely with the Texas Board of Chiropractic Examiners on behalf of the members of the TCA.  He has also served for several years on the education committee of the TCA, and acted as the legislative liaison for his geographic chiropractic district.
