As part of its statutory mission, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) conducts the country’s largest healthcare provider clinical training program. The VA Office of Academic Affiliations coordinates all educational activities in partnership with affiliated US academic institutions to train providers to serve the VA and the nation.

Select VA medical facilities provide clinical education and training opportunities for chiropractic students. This takes place through formal Academic Affiliation Agreements with CCE-accredited chiropractic schools.

Since 2004, more than 1,500 chiropractic students have completed clinical rotations at 24 VA facilities. Interested students can apply for VA training only through the chiropractic school in which they are enrolled.

EON Systems Inc. has announced the launch of its ICD Converter App, which is available on all Android, iPad and iPhone products.  The ICD Converter App features both ICD-9 to ICD-10 conversion and ICD-10 to ICD-9 conversion. In addition to being able to cross convert the codes, users will also be able to type in keywords to receive the corresponding ICD-9 and ICD-10 codes for the search term entered.

The app also will warn the user of the different codes available for different variations of a condition, such as the right/left specificity needed with certain codes or the seventh character needed for an injury or fracture code. The user can search by procedure code or diagnosis code, as well.

“The ICD-10 conversion is an enormous undertaking for all of us in the healthcare industry,” said Ken Thomas, president of EON Systems. “With the prevalence of smart phones and tablets today, we believed it would be advantageous to create a tool that might help make this transition to ICD-10 a bit easier, not just for EON Systems’ clients, but for anyone in the healthcare industry that could benefit from the features and functionalities offered in the ICD Converter app.”

Mid-Winter 2015
Monday, March 16, 2015 03:30 PM

A number of Chiropractors met in Lubbock at the Overton Hotel and Conference Center early in March.  The event was a success, as evidenced in the photos.  Conference sessions included Rules and risk management review directly from the TBCE Executive Director, a hands-on session on extremity diagnostics and adjusting; a luncheon session with a presentation by Physicians Business Solutions; and a session on clinical pearls from birth to the young athlete.  The Mid-Winter Conference was a fun, successful and educational.  Here are but a few photos from the event.
