Starting Your Chiropractic Career – Knowing the Rules and Representing Your Profession Well
10:20 am-noon
Speaker: Larry Montgomery, DC
You learned plenty in chiropractic college, but it doesn’t mean you’re completely ready for the challenges ahead. In this workshop, you’ll learn about the common mistakes many chiropractors make at the beginning of their careers. Also covered is a high-level overview of the Texas Board of Chiropractic Examiners (TBCE) rules, including the most common violations from new doctors. Finally, when you are in the clinic, you’re not representing just yourself, but all of chiropractic. Find out what it means to be a true professional!

Chiropractic Law 101 – Learning from Other Doctors’ Mistakes
1:30-2:20 pm
Speaker: Joshua Massingill, Attorney at Law, and StateCraft
You’re a chiropractor, not an attorney, but it helps to have a basic understanding of the law. In this session, a leading chiropractic attorney will discuss topics such as finalizing your contract as an associate to determining what type of legal entity makes the most sense for your clinic. In addition, you’ll learn how to avoid common legal slip-ups that could prevent fines and/or keep you out of the courtroom. There also will be ample time to ask questions.

State of Chiropractic in Texas
2:30-3:10 pm
Panelists: Devin Pettiet, DC, and Joshua Massingill, Attorney at Law, and StateCraft
Hear the latest legislative and legal updates from TCA’s president and lobbyist. Find out about the challenges and opportunities facing Texas chiropractors in the 2019 Texas Legislative Session. Discover how you can play a valuable role in advancing your profession by becoming a chiropractic advocate.

New Doc Seminar – The Business of Chiropractic
3:50-5:30 pm
Moderator: Shelby Elder, TCC STCA Chapter
Panelists: Tony Branker, DC; Larry Montgomery, DC; Devin Pettiet, DC; and Jose Simon, DC
Back by popular demand, TCA is hosting a panel of leading chiropractors discussing how they built successful businesses. These doctors will share valuable lessons learned during their years in practice. Moderated by TCC’s Student TCA Chapter, you’ll have an opportunity to ask any questions you want.
