TBCE License and Education Committee to Meet Jan 9, 2014

The Licensure and Education Committee of the Texas Board of Chiropractic Examiners has announced that it will hold a meeting at 1:00 PM on January 9, 2014 at the William P. Hobby Building, Tower 2, Room 225, located at 333 Guadalupe, Austin, Texas 78701.

The committee, chaired by Kenya Woodruff, J.D., will consider the following agenda:

1. Continuing education

1.1 Discussion of board policy regarding online CE hours vs. webinars, and the requirements of each
1.2 Discussion of board policy regarding number of hours allowed to be taken online
1.3 Discussion of approved course sponsors under Rule 73.7 (including members of other professions)

2. Discussion of new rule regarding Specialties and recommendation to Rules Committee. The proposed new rule will detail when a licensee can hold himself out as a specialist or as specializing in an area. The Rules Committee has asked for further information on the proposed new rule recommended to them at the August meeting.

3. Discussion regarding inactive licensee requirement to reactivate license every five years

4. Discussion of creation of a "disabled" license pursuant to request from licensee

5. Discussion regarding possible recommendation for rule changes regarding mobility of licenses

6. Comments from Committee Chair concerning Committee business, activities or issues.
